MIT - Kresge Auditorium & Chapel
Eero Saarinen's world-renowned 1955 Kresge Auditorium and MIT Chapel were originally conceived and executed as the cultural anchors of MIT's post-war West Campus development. After 60 years of hard use, each building was renovated with new building services, upgraded curtain walls with new laminated glass at Kresge and uniquely restored art glass - laminated for strength and performance at the chapel - repairs to masonry, concrete, roofing and waterproofing, a renewed hardscape and flooring, and subtle, though important programmatic and interior enhancements.
